Tanya Robert's performance as Sheena may be the definative foot epic in modern filmmaking. If you love the bare feet of a beautiful woman, get thee to the DVD store and pick up a copy.
As far as I know, there is nothing but the pan and scan version. But consider this - except for one brief scene, Sheena wears no shoes at all. No trying to hide inexplicable sneakers, or showing scenes from the knee up - there are many, many MANY full-length shots of Tanya's amazing feet enduring the full range of terrain types availible in scenic Africa.
Is the story any good? It's a Tarzan-lite adventure, with evil American types working with corrupt African types to rip-off nature and Sheena's tribe. It's fun, but the nominal hero is too much of a comedy type, rather than really projecting any personal heroism. Maybe the producers didn't want him overshadowing Sheena in the film, but without him having any real action presence, he just seems like an appendix to the action. Though I had to question his sanity when Sheena offered him her foot to help himself up with while climbing a tree - he hesitated! The fool!
There is a gorgeous couple of nude scenes of Sheena in the film, quite nice and fully nude in nature scenes, but nothing can quite top the extreme depths that Tanya's feet went for the role. As I recall reading somewhere (maybe an old Starlog article), the one scene Tanya wore shoes in was because she refused to stand on a hot rock in the middle of a desert without any shoes after all she endured throughout filming. And it's a pretty brief scene, so don't let it hamper your foot-love viewing.
This is the definative foot classic, and fun for the whole family. I give the film, the extreme barefoot acting, and Tanya's basic foot a 10!
